The yarn
Lisle: long staple cotton, combed and mercerised. A dry sheen and a cool handle.
The neck is ribbed and holds: that is where a light knit is judged.
How to wear it
On its own in summer. Under an unstructured jacket in place of a shirt. Under a turtleneck it is not needed.
It is the knit that carries a tailored trouser without lowering its register.

What is lisle cotton?
Long staple cotton, combed and mercerised. A dry sheen, a cooler handle than ordinary cotton, and a neck that holds.
Will it shrink?
No, if washed at 30° and dried flat. Avoid the tumble dryer.
Does it work under a jacket?
Yes, with an unstructured jacket. Under a lined jacket a shirt is better.
